The Black Widow was originally created by Timely Comics in 1940. She was known as Clair Voyant. In 1964, she officially appeared as part of Marvel Comics’ Tales of Suspense. She is better known as Natasha Romanoff, a soviet spy where she was an antagonist. Later on, she defected back to the United States where she became an ally to the Avengers.
In the 1999 Marvel Comics’ Inhumans # 5, Black Widow reappeared and had the alter ego Yelena Belova. She was the second “Black Widow” in the series that was explained to be a trained assassin and spy of the GRU. She was genetically modified by HYDRA and in turn was able to have superpowers – the kind where she has the ability to copy the powers of any other superhero.
Though she was perceived to be blonde in some issues, she was also presented to be a brunette. Black Widow’s action figures greatly vary in appearance where some are blonde while others are brunette. One thing is for certain, each action figure presented in her liking are of a jaw-dropping hot woman in a costume that appears to be made of skin-tight leather. To avoid common confusion, Yelena Belova’s action figures are that of a short haired blonde while Natasha Romanoff’s are of a long, wavy-haired brunette.
