It is almost but a certainty that you have probably heard of vampire or monster hunters such as that of Van Helsing. There is one character that was created by Marvel in 1973, Eric Brooks – better known as Blade. Blade is a vampire hunter who vows to eliminate every last one of these creatures.
According to the official Marvel story, Blade was not born of parents where one is human and another is a vampire. His mother was a prostitute who got pregnant. The supposed doctor who helped her during her delivery was actually a vampire who devoured and killed her on the spot. According to the story, some of the enzymes from the vampire were transferred on to Blade, which gave him uncanny vampire abilities yet was immune to what would often kill them. This means that he can walk on broad daylight without so much as sunburn.
Some people may only know this character and have gone fond of its action figures after seeing it on television and in featured films. Other Marvel comic book aficionados know this for a fact and seek these action figures to be part of their valued collection. Even in the comics, he is of African-American image and is given a look that is full of angst and authority – with flair.
