Erector Sets

Erector is the trademark name of toys that is popular in the United States. It is categorized under the construction set of toys along with popular brands like Lego and Mega Blok. The difference between Lego and Erector is that Legos are building blocks while Erector uses real life construction materials like metal beams with holes, screws, bolts, nuts, pulleys, gears and sometimes small electric motors.

The tagline of one Erector ad goes: “Boys Today — Men Tomorrow!” This tagline is very true because boys at that time and even men were making scale models of bridges and buildings before constructing the real one. This was to make sure that the stability of the structure was okay before making it in real life.
