LEGO

The Lego Corporation hasn’t always been the huge conglomerate that it is today; they started from just a simple idea, just like their famous building blocks.

When Ole Kirk Christiansen first started the company in his small workshop in Billund, Denmark, he has always believed that quality should not be compromised; hence his motto: “Only the best is good enough”. This is the way of thinking that he has instilled in all his employees, a belief they still carry until now.

Christiansen derived the name Lego from the Danish phrase “leg godt” which means “play well”.
Although the Lego Corporation is famous for their LEGO interlocking building blocks, it is in no chance their original idea. Their design was based on the original Kiddicraft Self-Locking bricks; they took that idea and improved on it; and the rest as they say, is history.
