Everybody loves adorable talking dogs. Disney’s 2009 3D movie Up gives us Dug the Dog, a silly, loyal dog who follows the protagonists Carl Fredricksen and Russell in their adventures around South America. A Disney Dug the Dog Plush will make any Up fan happy, as Dug is one of the iconic characters of the film.
Dug is a small golden retriever with an electronic collar on his neck, which allows him to have the powers of speech. Dug is actually owned by Charles Muntz, Carl’s childhood hero, and is tasked to find the rare bird that Russell has just befriended. Dug brings his two new friends to his master. When Muntz discovers the connection between the bird and Russell, he has his army of pack dogs chase them. Dug escapes along with Russell and Carl, and eventually teams up with them.
Dug is disliked by the other dogs in Muntz’s army because he is silly and easily distracted. But Dug proves where his loyalties lie and helps out the protagonists escape Muntz’s clutches. He eventually goes back to the city with Carl and Russell, happy with his new friends. The Disney Dug the Dog Plush will be a good reminder for the movie fans of the happy ending the movie leaves their watchers with.
If you look at Dug from Up and you look at the Disney Dug the Dog Plush, you’ll find that the plush is just as adorable as the character. Even though it can’t talk, you’ll still love its big eyes and silly smile.
