The Justice League of America by DC Comics first appeared in 1960 in the 28th issue of The Brave and the Bold. Its original members were Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, Wonder Woman, Aqua Man, and the Martian Manhunter. Over the next few years after the debut of the superhero team, additions in the characters of Hawkman, Atom, Green Arrow, Zatanna, Black Canary, Atom, Captain Marvel, Plastic Man, and many others were made. The group includes all the most popular characters of DC. The JLA has always gathered strong following no matter which series the group appeared.
Created by Gardner Fox, Justice League characters have been featured and adapted in animated series Super Friends and the more recent Justice League (2001-2004), and an unproduced live action series, Justice League of America. The team saw the inception of other counterparts like Justice League Europe, Justice League International, Justice League Elite, and many other variations.
