The K’nex Ferris Wheel belongs to the Thrill Rides category of the K’nex line of toys. It is also part of the Amusement Park series along with the other favorites like the Corkscrew Coaster and the Vertical Viper.
Ferris wheels have always been a model staple when it comes to toy constructions sets. What makes the K’nex Ferris Wheel different from others is the fact that it is motorized. This means that after constructing the model, you can make the wheel spin using the included motor.
Starter K’nex Ferris Wheel sets are about 2 feet high when fully constructed. However, advanced K’nex Ferris Wheel sets can stand as tall as 8 feet with over 8,000 pieces to work with.
The tallest K’nex Ferris Wheel ever constructed stands 13 feet tall and 12 feet wide. It used about 6,000 pieces just for the wheel alone and used anywhere from 10,000 – 12,000 pieces for the whole structure.
