Mysterious earthquakes have been destroying cities around the world. In order to investigate the cause of the destruction, a special group called the Power Miners was sent underground. What they discovered was more than what they anticipated; huge rock monsters are the cause of all the earthquakes. Now it’s up to you and the Power Miners to stop the monsters before they cause more damage.
This line of Lego toys are supposedly the follow-up to a previous series called Rock Raiders, and like the latter, Power Miners is set underground. The story of the toy series revolves around the adventures of our five heroes: Doc, Brains, Duke, Rex and the Mechanic.
Included in every set is a vehicle that is used by the Power Miners, one or two Power Miners figures, and a couple of rock monsters. What makes the blocks used in Power Miners is because there are a quite a few special parts included, like drills and spiked wheels. And you can also make new sets by combining two sets, for example, to get the Cave Cutter you need to combine the parts from the Stone Chopper and Mine Mech; the instructions for making them are all in the Lego Power Miners website.
