Lex Luthor is a DC comics super villain who is the greatest enemy of Superman. Created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, he was originally a power-hungry evil scientist who merely existed to destroy Superman, who is the biggest obstacle to his goal to dominate the world. Lex Luthor does not possess superhuman powers but his power lies on the advanced weaponry he creates. In some instances, he is seen to wear a powered exoskeleton.
The original character had a full red hair but eventually, Lex Luthor became known as hairless. Lex made his first appearance as a power-hungry mad scientist in the 23rd issue of Action Comics, which came out in April 1940. In 1962, author Robert Bernstein revealed the character as a childhood friend of Clark Kent. The version explored his motives and history. Bernstein also told of the instance when Lex lost his hair due to a toxic spill.
