Planet of the Apes is a science fiction movie remake of a 1968 film with the same title. Director Tim Burton was at the helm for this remake which starred some of the biggest stars in Hollywood today, Mark Wahlberg, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Paul Giamatti.
This movie was well received by the audience, although there have been some debates about the minutiae of the cinematography. The budget for the Planet of the Apes was steep at $100 million, but, the movie grossed over $300 million in the United States alone. Extra terrestrial intelligence as well as the usual human conflicts are the two central ideas in the film. An achievement for the cast and the director, this production is considered as one of the better films of the past decade.
