The Prototype video game was first released to the public in June 2009. It was designed to be used in three different platforms – Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 3. The game evolves around a man named Alex Mercer who realizes that he has the ability to shape shift and take form of anyone he touches. He has the ability to absorb another person’s abilities and memory. The story takes place in New York City where he finds his foes to be regular humans who were infected by a virus that turned them in to monsters of sorts. The story in the game continues as Alex tries to find out what happened to him and to help rid the city of the virus.
While Prototype is a relatively new game, action figures have already been created and produced for the public to avail of. These mostly have various versions of Alex in his signature hooded jacket. Various action figures would have him featured to have a weapon for a limb – a large blade in most common cases. Other forms would include the hammerfists, razor claws, whipfists and the powerful shield that he can wield at any time he would need it. Other action figures also include the monsters that wreak havoc in the city and a few of the other supporting characters.
