If you are a Captain America fan, it is safe to assume that you know who the Red Skull is. While this character was presented in a number of alter egos in Marvel Comics, the original and the present-day Red Skull’s alter ego is Johann Schmidt. He was first introduced as the antagonist in the Captain America Comics # 1 in 1941.
According to his fictional biography, he was an orphan who grew-up to be an introvert. After going through odd jobs and living a measly life of crime, he became a bellboy in a hotel where he came across Adolf Hitler. Hitler intervened in his training and turned him in to the deranged villain that he is. He was also the same person who gave Johann Schmidt the name Red Skull along with the mask.
The Red Skull has always been deemed as the perfect villain that Marvel has ever created. The sinister looks and traits that this character has was immortalized in the form of action figures that has become widely available over the years. Some of these have turned in to collectibles, hold significant value while others (newer versions) has been released, and is accessible to all interested.
