Jessica Drew or Spider Woman first appeared in 1977 as introduced by Marvel comics. As the story goes, she is actually of significant age yet only appears to be seventeen. This was because she was placed under a genetic accelerator after being injected with spider blood serum. She was said to bear unusual powers and abilities. In a nutshell, she is basically the female version of Spiderman. However, it should be noted that they became the heroes that they are under different circumstance.

While it is easy to find action figures of this heroine, it is important to remember that she should not be confused with Spider Girl. Spider Girl was introduced in 1998 as the daughter of Peter Parker who replaced her father after his retirement. Spider Woman is easy to identify. She wears a red suit with yellow trim on the torso and matching yellow gloves and boots. She wears a mask yet lets her deep black hair flow freely. She is also easily identifiable with the web-like wings or gliders that she has that extend from her elbows to the waist. These also come in a number of poses or stances. Spider Girl on the other hand simply looks like the original Spiderman with the enhancement of physical features to make it identifiable as a female.
