On October of 1994, Stargate was released by MGM and Carolco. A television series was created three years later as a sequel to the film A feature film with a military science fiction theme; the Stargate film was directed by Roland Emmerich. The film became the basis for the Stargate sequels produced later including the famous Stargate Television series.
The award winning television series of Stargate entitled “Stargate SG-1” began its five season broadcast in 1997 and ended after ten seasons in 2007, seasons six to ten finished are broadcast on the Sci-Fi channel. The Stargate SG-1 series had a total of 214 episodes making it the longest running science fiction series on television. Stargate SG-1 follows the story from the original Stargate film. Stargate are ancient alien devices, that enable teleportation into different galaxies in an instant. DVD films entitled “Stargate: The Ark of Truth” and “Stargate: Continuum” were released in 2008. A third DVD film will be released in 2009.
i just started the 7th season of stargate. i have been enjoying the show like non stop for 3 weeks. im addicted.
