Produced by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were first published in a self funded comic book in 1984. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic was supposed to be a parody of the four most popular comics of the 80s until a toy company became interested in creating a line of action figures for the comic characters.
An action figure line of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was produced by Playmates Toys Incorporated. The advertising campaign for the action figure line of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles included a miniseries which was shown twice before it got noticed by Networks. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Series started along with its action figure line in CBS Network.
The success of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series in 2003 became a way of development of new lines of action figures from the same toy company, a videogame by Ubisoft, and a Computer Generated movie released in 2007.
