Marvel comics first introduced The Avengers in 1963. It featured five superheroes – The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Wasp and Ant-Man. The story of the team’s collaboration began in their aim to defeat Loki (Thor’s adopted brother). By the time the second issue came out, the characters has changed where Ant-Man became Giant Man.
Soon after The Avengers’ success in battling crime, they have recruited-in new members. These include Captain America who then became their field leader and was given a title as one of the team’s founders after The Hulk left. Hawkeye, Hercules, Quicksilver, Black Panther, Beast, Tigra, War Machine, Spiderman, Spiderwoman among many more are part of this team. Eventually, the fantastic 4, the X-men and other now popular characters have joined forces with them.
It is easy to find action figures of the popular characters. Some are available in local toy and hobby shops while others can be just as easily found online. For avid collectors, finding the action figure that was made from years back is a very big deal. This is especially applicable for Iron Man whose appearance evolved from its original design of a bulky armor of golden coat. Other great finds would be for those characters that have ceased to exist in the Marvel series.
