Playstation and Xbox fanatics are surely familiar with the brawler video game, The Warriors, which was released during early 2005. The hit video game played by millions is based on the film of the same name, and that same film was considered a cult action classic during the dawn of the 1980s.
Both the video game and the film trace its plot roots to the work of American writer Sol Yurick, who was then inspired to write a novel based on the adventures of the Greek writer Xenophon. Xenophon had numerous adventures as a soldier, and he chronicled one of his greatest journeys in his work, Anabasis. Instead of the original Greek set-up, as mentioned by Xenophon in his work, Yurick changed his setting to New York and focused on the area gangs who fight against each other for the sake of power. Both the video game and the novel have the same concept, which is reminiscent of the action movie plots which come alive in the silver screen for decades.
Toy collectors can now get hold of The Warriors action figures in stores today. Since The Warriors is considered a classic both in the movie and game arena, everyone should bring some The Warriors action figures for their collection to be complete.
