It is rather unlikely to encounter someone who has never heard of the magical tales of the Wizard of Oz. This has been part of our lives throughout the generations. This was the twisted tale of Dorothy Gale who was swept in a tornado along with her trusty dog, Toto. Her house landed in Munchkinland where it crushed the wicked witch of the east. In her aim to be sent home, she embarked on a journey to Emerald City to find the Wizard of Oz to grant her wish.
Along the way, she met the Scarecrow who wanted nothing else than to be gifted with a brain. She also met the Tin Man who wanted to have a heart and the cowardly lion who wanted to be granted courage. All three went on the adventure together and encountered various characters including the wicked witch of the west. These were brightly depicted in the action figures/ collectors items that were inspired by the story and the movie. Them, along with the munchkins, flying monkeys, the good witch of the north and the Wizard of Oz became available to the public to collect. While the original appearances were the inspiration, some toy companies have developed miniature or cartoon-like action figures of the characters.
