Science fiction has proved itself a popular genre even way back into the 1980s with the Walt Disney Production’s release, Tron. In an era when computers are only making their way into the different industry scene, the plot of the movie is already considered as a breakthrough by combining brand-new computer technology with an equally engaging sci-fi plot.
The movie captures the story of Kevin Flynn, a computer genius who served as a former employee for the software magnate ENCOM. Being the wizard that he is when it comes to computers, Flynn is envied by other employees in the company, including the devious Ed Dillinger. Dillinger, in contempt for Flynn’s rising success, steals one of Flynn’s works and passes it as his own. Dillinger also locks out Flynn and another employee, Alan Bradley, in the security system used in the company. The film leads to Flynn’s quest to destroy the control program Dillinger is using through Bradley’s own security program “Tron.” Flynn is converted into data through the use of a matter transmission program, and he tries to redeem what he should really have.
This innovation in movie-making can further be immortalized through Tron action figures. These Tron action figures best for those who were amazed by the technological advancements of the movie.
